Reasons to love the summer

Hey readers,

We have had a couple of days so naturally can’t help but getting excited for the arrival of summer, I am British it is a thing and the fact that it properly me majority wet. That won’t stop me from celebrating all things summer.

I believe each has its good and bad, I suppose a bit like life really – you can’t have a rainbow without the rain. Anyhow, I digress. Now I am not a massive fan of humid heat with the right temperature and wind that is one thing I do look forward to. To go out more outdoors and not spend a huge fortune on the dreaded soft play areas. Fresh air is open and free nothing beats walking on the grass with your bare feet or looking up to see what shapes you can make with the clouds. It is a change to walk more and get out in the water parks or with a Frisbee.

During the summer months it means colder food such as salad, I do love a good ice burg lettuce. Alternatively, consuming ice-cream and drinking drinks with ice cubes in.

Summer is a time for less clothes, even though I am fat that doesn’t stop me from wearing shorts and showing my bear arms. Less need for leggings and more changes to wear dresses with the fresh breeze in the air.

As a lover of frugal I can’t not mention the fact there is little need to put the heating on and reduce your electricity bill. Likewise with the tumble dryer – instead opting for putting clothes on the line to dry all by themselves. I just love it when it is a hot day I can do two or three loads of washing and they are dry within a couple of hours, I know how exciting.

When the kids break up for a whole six weeks even though it is a daughting prospect the idea of lazy days and less rigman with the routine is a nice break for us parents.

Typically for my family our summer holiday occurs during the big six week school holiday, this gives us time to explore and see something different. Trying new places or food is always a winner in my eyes.

Hayfever

Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

HAYFEVER

because I am really suffering bad with hayfever. My sinuses keep getting blocked and casing headaches and dizziness. I find it really hard to think or make decisions, I don’t know it could potentially just being my odd self.

But I am enjoying the breeze this week (when it happens), it is really refreshing. I particularly one of those people who love watching washing dance about on the line, I don’t why but I just find it really calming, simple pleasures and all that!

I am glad to be getting this week over with I have had to do a bit of wrapping, which I don’t particularly enjoy and may at one point have hurdled the sellotape across the room, because it was really annoying me getting caught up and twisted with the tape.

In other news been really glued to the news with regards to the election, I thought 2016 could not top it for an ‘interesting’ political time, but wooooo, it is getting fierce now.

Spring I blooming love you

Hey readers,

Today (20/03/2017) marks the first day of Spring Equinox so here is a list of things I love about Spring.

spring

This is the time when flowers start to bloom and blossom can be found everywhere.

Sadly, the blossom is short lived but is beautiful seeing blossom like confetti blowing in the air.

What is lovely about spring is more colour dotted about and sense of lightness that it brings through flowers, pastel colours in fashion to lighter meals that we eat.

More lighter evenings gives a sense of calm and wanting to stay out later. If the weather is good it is pleasurable to eat Al fresco.

With spring brings a mix bag of weather but a lot of the time we are blessed with warmer. Therefore, meaning higher chances of being outside, making it a lot more easier to look after children compared to being stuck indoors.

Something magical to do during the spring time is go to the woods and see the area covered in bluebells, so picturesque.

Spring marks the start of new life and it is lovely to see the new baby animals slowly emerging in the wildlife. You don’t have to go far to find baby animals, I have find the coots already making nests locally to me.

As wildlife slowly migrates back in England you get more of an opportunity to hear the birds calling and singing that takes place during the mating season.

One of the best things with the warmer weather is not having to wear heavy clothes making it more comfortable  not to be so covered up. Plus, as the warmer weather occurs during spring we can finally get to wear sandles. I just love the sensation of fresh air brushing against my toes.

Wales

Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

Becuase we have had a lovely few days in Wales seeing the inlaws and making memories away with the kiddos!

We went to the beach, walked around woodlands and saw some waterfalls. Not to mention fish and chips and ice-cream becuase otherwise it wouldn’t be a holiday 😂 !
I so needed a break though and it has been so refreshing to get away and step back fron normal life.

Though tomorrow normal service will resume with doing a ton of washing/drying/putting away. standard mum life really but at least I get to catch up on my programmes and chill in my home again.

Warmth

Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

Am I the only one who struggles picking a word, so I just pick one that instantly pops into my head. So hence why warmth as currently the sun is shinning and it is a lovely temperature. We have enjoyed a good few days of sunshine which really lifts your mood. Not to mention the speed it takes to reduce the washing load. I know yawn but I can’t help it I am a mum and it is socially acceptable now to talk about suck exciting stuff, 😂.

We have had a blast the other day with the boys and playing in the local foundations in our city. It was lovely to just sit back and watch my boys play so nicely and lovely. Their bond seems to be getting stronger and stronger each day.
