Why you should try counselling

Hey readers,

As a person with mental problems, I know the importance of therapy. I have done counselling before. I have found it very beneficial to speak to someone confidentially that I have no emotional connection with.

Why you should consider counselling?

Firstly, it is confidential and as they are professional then they are not emotionally attached to you, making it much easier to be open without fear of judgement.

Knowing that a counseller is experienced in mental health, means that they understand how the mind works enabling you to feel that you are not being a fool but being heard.

It allows that time you have a counsellor to be your space to open up knowing that it is a safe place where you can open up. It gives you that time once a week to focus on yourself uninterrupted therapy allows you to be, you don’t always have to talk but being present can do wonders for your mental health.

Therapy is great if you are feeling alone and isolated, it allows you to talk and feel that actually, you are not alone. There are loads of people who go to therapy and have helped them to deal with the emotional baggage that is holding you back.

Counselling over time gives you back the control to deal with your mental health which will then have a positive impact on your overall life such as sleeping and relationships with other.

Going to a therapist and talking through your concerns and worries can give you better insight into understanding the way you behave. It can be a chance to spot the negative cycles of behaviour and work towards changing the bad habits into positive responses or actions.

Also, sometimes if it can be hard to talk to your partner and having a person who is neutral can help. Couple counselling can be beneficial to help understand each other’s point, I have in the past found it beneficial for me and my husband gave us time to understand one another with the support there. Time

Hey readers,

my word of the week is

TIME.png

What I mean to say about this is lack of time due to the fact that it is half term. As lovely as half term is it leaves me lacking time. I feel like I don’t have enough of it this week and feel a bit tired. It is exhausting work trying to entertain children whilst trying desperately holding on to your sanity.

I attempt to do a fun activity such as playing with Plasticine, nice little relaxing activity for my boys. Don’t be silly, I have never been so God dame frustrated in my life. I have to supervise to make sure everyone has got an equal amount, the same colours and sit in the middle making sure that it does not kick off. I don’t need to say anymore then my patience can run very thin.

This has what most of it has been like, seriously sometimes I question why I bother. Sometimes, it is much to turn telly on and deal with the crippling guilt of being the ‘slummy mummy’.

Roll on Monday where I can breathe and enjoy the silence without thinking that boys are next door planning on taking over the world.

Love for daylight hours

Hey readers,

Have you remembered to forward your clocks? Isn’t it wonderful to get lighter evenings now and I am happy for this change, let me tell you why?

I suppose the first obvious reason why daylight saving time is good because it is lighter evenings and lovely to see the beautiful sunsets you get during summer time.

It is lovely to have more motivation as there is more light, which means getting more things doing.

Having more time to see things in the evening if I am out and about.
I really enjoy the calm of the lighter evenings, especially if it is dry and you can go for a lovely evening stroll.

Better change (if dry) to eat Al fresco, especially if it is a picnic at the park, makes my boys in particular super happy.

For a parent the dream of having a quicker time to get the washing dry, meaning more loads completed in a smaller time is the dream!

That being said you don’t need to live your home if you have some open space, a lot more quitter for us parents and the boys play together outside without getting under your feet. Which is always an added bonus 😉

I find that if my boys are out playing in the fresh air later in the evening they sleep better during the night-time.

You feel happier when it is lighter and less likely to want to stay in watch TV, maybe because you are more energetic.

Have more desire to get out of the house and less sluggish.

During the light times the golden hour is a beautiful time to take attractive photos.

With the lighter mornings you’re more motivated to get up and not need as much sleep during the lighter months.

What things do you like about Daylight Saving Time?
