5 things I am doing well at

Hey readers,

Today I am writing about things that have being go well for me at the moment. It is good to take some time out and reflect on the positives as we all can get in a bit of a pattern and forgot about the good stuff that we have achieved.

journey 1

Firstly, this may seem trivial but for me it is really important as most of my life I have struggled with insomnia and getting to sleep due to anxiety. Recently, I have been getting some good night sleep, which has made a huge difference to my mental health. It really does help with making you feel more better especially thinking more logically and getting less emotional about certain things in my life.

I suppose the next point kinda connects to the last positive in that I have been staying calmer more especially when sometimes I may blow up or struggle to deal with change. I really struggle with change especially when it is unexpected but I have learnt to a little walk away and use distraction techniques.

journey 3

I have re-developed my love for colouring as a way to not only relax for me but also doing it with my eldest also helps me too. Not to mention the fact that doing an activity together has helped our bond and created some calm down which had a ripple effect on the rest of the day. I have found it is a great way to connect to my son as it something just for us on a Sunday so makes it special for him.

journey 2

The final positive achievement I have done recently is adding more exercise to help tone my body up and make me feel less ugh. I find regular exercise helps give me a bit more energy and again has helped as a way to get rid of some of the daily frustrations I am faced with.

Why social Media is good

Hey readers,

We all get bogged down in the negative side of social media, so let’s for today celebrate all the good aspects of social media.

www

The internet is a good way to express yourself. I know for me I find verbal communication really, really difficult due to being autistic. Therefore, writing things down on my blog has really helped. There is also a great autistic community on twitter for example where you can openly discuss topics, it is great to get responses back. It can help other people understand you and help get more personal awareness out on specific topics.

As a parent and someone who struggles with mental health, loneliness is a feeling that has occurred over the years. I find the internet fantastic to connect with other similar people, whether it be through blogging, reading other people’s experience, tweeting or even discussing worries/feelings in forums. Also, the internet can be a useful way to distraction yourself from focusing on negativity. It really has helped me get out of that funk.

The internet is a splendid place if you want to get lost. With so much information out there, it is great to enhance your learning. You can even find scholarly type materials on google or good old YouTube.

The internet is definitely one way to get free entertainment and to do stuff without breaking the bank balance.  There is so many options, some examples are; watching YouTube videos, listening to radio, using social media and evening writing blogs 😉

If we look at recent events from this year especially in politics it demonstrates that the internet has a powerful voice. The cyber world can influence for the good and make positive changes. A example of this would be with the way the internet has evolved politics with such matters of politicians being more transparency, though it is a slow process, it is something that is being taken seriously, especially with the way that majority of people get their information from the internet. Gone were the days when it was a two leadership battle, with having the internet it opens doors for more choice. Therefore, politicians have to work harder to get them likes and ultimately the power to change the lives of the ordinary public.

What positives do you find in social media?

Why running rocks!

Hey readers,

Recently I returned to running and got hit again by the running bug, I just love and let me tell you why!

Because running gets you out of the house and you get some fresh air.

running 3

If your like me, I get quite frustrated with my inadequacies as a person and since I have started running have found running really great to just burn off them feelings.

It is good for you physical health, I only do running three times a week but I still find it beneficial in helping me ton up my legs and help strength my arms (as I am on medication where one of the side effects causes me great deal of physical pain).

You feel like you have achieved something positive and can make you feel better for it.

It is really fantastic to help you sleep if you do in the evening or alternatively, if you do it first thing in the morning it can set you up for the day.

running 2

You build up stamina which is always handy if you have young children and they want you to run after them in the park.

I had a break from running for a few weeks and definitely missed it. Once I stsrted again with running I found it made me much happier in myself and like I achieved something.

Obiviously, a bonus reason for running is it burns of calerioes which who can not deny is wonderful.

If you have children it sets an example regarding doing exercise and a positive message of seeing it occur.

You never fully appreciate a shower until after a hot sweaty run.

It is free, you can do it practically any where and at any time if you wish.

running 1

There are so many free apps like c25k to help beginnings that are a great guide to help you know where to start. If you are really confident then there is an event called parkrun (again free) where you run with others and such buzz, plus the feeling of being part of the running community.

As a parent you sometimes lose yourself, so it is good to do something for yourself, a bit of ‘me time’ where it is an activity solely for you to enjoy and get something out of.

May 2017 Goals

Hey readers,

I am feeling a bit meh today, so to help me shake the blues I thought I would do some positive work. Therefore I am going to look at some things I want to achieve this month.

Firstly, I want to grow my Instagram followers, I recently set up a new Instagram profile and want increase my followers from currently 193 to 250. Not sure if this is ambitious or just right. Not worried if I don’t achieve it, just something I want to aim for.

Secondly, I would like to fit four books in the month. My mood appears to be influencing my motivation to get anything done. So if I have a concrete plan hopefully that should kick me in the right direction.

books

Thirdly, I want to start running again, I got lazy but I genuinely miss it. It is good having that burn feeling after. I find running really good for me as it helps get rid of the feelings of frustrations and  inadequacies that I have, that I constantly torment myself with.

running

Fourthly, I want to get bit more experimental in the kitchen with trying different recipes. I am not good with trying new as it scares me. I start of with best intentions, having ideas etc but when it comes down to the crunch I  procrastinate hardcore. I think it is the fear that is holding me back. However, one way to help reduce that fear and anxiety is choosing recipes that are simple. I seem to go to the extremes and forgot to do something new that is best to always start with baby steps, until you grow with confidence.

Finally, probably one of my favourite goals is to get a little bit experimental with the camera. It is easy to be lazy and click and shot. But I have some knowledge that I can use, therefore experiment and grow. It is easier said then done but one can only try.
