School

Hey readers,
My word of the week is:

SCHOOL

because it’s a return of school for my oldest and he is now in year 1. He has been finding going back to school really hard these past couple of days. This is because of the change in the teaching as it is more  focused on learning over play.

He is not very good with change and he needs things explaining to him. So, as you can imagine he’s not very happy. He has been complaining that he hate school, thinks it’s stupid and wishes he was back in reception again.

I just hope that with time that he can ease back into it and establish a routine.  I think this will help him feel more happier about gong to school.

Today my youngest has returned to nursery for one last year and then he will start school in September.

He on the other hand is super excited to be returning. I am looking forward to getting a better routine and quiet time. It has been lovely having them but it’s nice to have a break from it all.

Planning

Hey readers,

This week my word is:

Planning.png

This is because I am consciously aware of the fact that we are fastly approaching the summer holiday. I am not good at adapting to change due to my autism, so I need to plan a system in place with how I am going to get through it. Previous years I tend to get quite obsessed with it but this year I am trying to be general and just have options of things to do when I feel like tearing my hair out.

I have also been to the library and withdrew some books out. I have lost my mojo to read physical books recently so purposely took the time to find some good books to get my teeth stuck into.

My youngest gave me a scare this week, whilst at nursery he fell on a balancing beam and the beam sprang up into his face. So, he has a gorgeous massive brush on his nose, close to his eye socket. Luckily his eyesight is ok and mainly superficial bruising rather then any damage.

Return

Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

Because it is the return back to school, nursery and general normality of life. Anyone else struggling with feeling a bit blue, I think it is just a comedown from all the exciting festivities.

Although glad to get some routine back and try and get back to the healthy eating malarkey, which isn’t easy after all the goodies entering my mouth the past couple of weeks.

Also, had to deal with the boys sole for a night while husband was away, jeez hats of to single parents. I am a bad mum, I let my eldest sleep in my bed as he was real struggling with anxiety. I was desperate at this point and in the end sleep wins. However, I got through it and everyone is still alive and well, phew!

Still trying to find suitable places for new toys, that is the biggest challenge of all!

Running

Hey readers,
My word of the week is

Because for the last four weeks I have been running. I have decided to run as a form of exercise. I downloaded the c25k app and it is the best thing I have ever done!

I love running outside in the fresh air, it is free and good to clear your head. I like the fact I am getting fitter and building stamina. I definately can say I have caught the running bug. If I can do it then anyone can do, lol!

In other news it is the week the boys return to school and nursery. I love having them at home but by God it is lovely to have some ‘me time’ and peace to think for a bit.

Talking of school, it means the return of so many  letters. I have had FIVE letters in the space of four days, seriously why can’t we just let kids play like the happy people of Denmark do, tsk! Rant over!

Routine

Hey Readers,

My word of the week is:

Image result for routine

This is because my son on Monday started full days at nursery. I have learnt to adapt this week to the changes of times when collecting and dropping off my boy. As I also have to get the other child in my life goes to nursery.

As my son eats a main meal at school I have also had to change the meal times which is a bit frustrating wen you have to adapt. Especially when going out shopping then trying to rush a about in the kitchen like a crazy woman.

In other news my youngest this week he seems to be having the most awful tantrums that can last for like 10-15 mins. It is unusual as he normally doesn’t last three minutes usually. Oh boy do they hurt your ears as they are frequent causing me to be so tired having to deal with the drama. When we picked up my eldest he decided to have a fit because I would not get him an ice-cream from the shop. So all the way back from the school to home he whaled and screeched. I hope this is short period and hope it is linked just from tiredness at the return of going to nursery.

Hope you enjoyed your week.

Summer Holidays

Hey readers,

My word of the week is

Well it’s finally here, summer hols! Both my boys broke up from nursery on Tuesday albeit the youngest didn’t go in this week as he was poorly. Over the weekend the youngest had a temperature over 41.5 and he kept getting really cold and hot. He was very wingy and tired due to this bug he caught.

Saturday we did go out but he was so bad that I had to come home and get him comfy on the sofa with his quilt whilst watching a marathon of Octonauts. He was motionless on the sofa which is very, very unusual for my DS2. If you ever met him he would be really bouncy and have bucketfuls of energy. Clearly needed the rest on Saturday afternoon. He then started developing a rash with red spots. So, we did take him to the out of hours doctors in the evening as we rang up for advice and got told to bring him down to the clinic. The dr said it was some sort of virus and advised us to give him paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with his temperature. Strangely it went down but then on Sunday evening his temperature spiked again into the forties.

We decided Monday morning to not take him into nursery as his rash was so bad all over his face, legs and chest. We got an appointment to the dr that morning. They confirmed that it was a virus and gave him a proscription for some antibiotics. I am pleased to inform on Wednesday evening the rash has reduced and so has his temperature. Just in time for the holidays 😉

In other news boy is it hot. I feel slightly dread of lack of child free time to get stuff during the summer. I think it is more the anxiety of change. Give it a week I will get into the swing of things. I can’t complain having lie ins and not getting flustered trying to get two children for nursery.

Tearful

Hey readers,

This week I have been feeling

ABM_1455188702

It pretty suns up week. If you have been reading my recent wotw posts I have talked about my parent course I am currently doing. I don’t know if it is going well or not but it is had been really challenging for Most of the information is really simple but the process of information each week has been testing and after awhile can be really hard. I am really struggling to deal with one think after the next and keep up with all the new rules. I find not enough time to adapt to the new formula.
I have mostly been taking my sons to nursery also the past few months. This is outside my comfort zones socially ( I suffer with acute social anxiety) so is very hard on top of all the other stuff. Not to mention my distrust with the nursery with past issues regarding professionalism. Not to mention my son having major kickoff at nursery all because he got overwhelmed with choosing taken a book. We have worked out that he does not have a drink during the morning and really affects his behaviour.
I am just glad of a break next week as my head feels at breaking point and as a consequence I have been frequently meltdown. I have been very emotional and send quite a bit if time crying in the evening as the pressure builds up.
But looking at a brighter note I have had not been binging on food and being more sensible with my food choices. Also, really enjoying colouring and purchased a wonderful tattoo colour book. It contains a lot of skull illustrations which I am obsessed about skulls so much that I have them on my Christmas tree as decorations, haha.
