Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

Organising (1)

because I have bee sorting out and descaling the amount of rubbish in my home. It gets to the point where there is no space so something has to give. I find this type of activity really relaxing, I feel like a weight has been lifted.

I do love a good sort out and donating things to charity shops because then someone else can get something out of it rather then staying with and gathering dust.

Now the next stage is to not go out and buy more books to replace them, haha, the struggle is real!

In other news we visited the butterfly farm on Saturday and was lovely to see all the different butterflies even though my eldest struggled with the randomness of butterflies fluttering everywhere, that however, is a whole new story in its self.

Why running rocks!

Hey readers,

Recently I returned to running and got hit again by the running bug, I just love and let me tell you why!

Because running gets you out of the house and you get some fresh air.

If your like me, I get quite frustrated with my inadequacies as a person and since I have started running have found running really great to just burn off them feelings.

It is good for you physical health, I only do running three times a week but I still find it beneficial in helping me ton up my legs and help strength my arms (as I am on medication where one of the side effects causes me great deal of physical pain).

You feel like you have achieved something positive and can make you feel better for it.

It is really fantastic to help you sleep if you do in the evening or alternatively, if you do it first thing in the morning it can set you up for the day.

You build up stamina which is always handy if you have young children and they want you to run after them in the park.

I had a break from running for a few weeks and definitely missed it. Once I stsrted again with running I found it made me much happier in myself and like I achieved something.

Obiviously, a bonus reason for running is it burns of calerioes which who can not deny is wonderful.

If you have children it sets an example regarding doing exercise and a positive message of seeing it occur.

You never fully appreciate a shower until after a hot sweaty run.

It is free, you can do it practically any where and at any time if you wish.

There are so many free apps like c25k to help beginnings that are a great guide to help you know where to start. If you are really confident then there is an event called parkrun (again free) where you run with others and such buzz, plus the feeling of being part of the running community.

As a parent you sometimes lose yourself, so it is good to do something for yourself, a bit of ‘me time’ where it is an activity solely for you to enjoy and get something out of.

Running

Hey Readers,

My word of the week is:

RUNNING

This because I had a short break from running due to my mental health problems but have since this week returned to it.

I love running and really missed it, hence why I returned. It is good for me physically and mentally. Even though second week in and I feel a little bit sore, particularly on the old carves, but it is all good. I do love feeling of the ‘burn’ afterwards and feels like I have done something constructive that. Not only all these benefits but it has also helped get ris of frustration which being on the autistic spectrum I acquire a lot in one day alone, haha.

My son has also been running during his PE at school and loves to show  me the position he gets ready for when he has a race. In July will be his first sports day and to say he is excitement is an understatement.

Reasons why the boy throws a fit

Hey readers,

Kids are funny creatures aren’t they, you think you sussed them but then something happens and you what!!!! Here are some classic examples where you really wish you could understand but just leaves you even more confused.

Now I have two children which causes some lovely moments but other times hell over really silly things such as why has he got his bed over their on the left side and they so badly want it.

When you don’t give your child that colour plate they so desperately need or else there whole life will fall a part in that instance.

Major suck in having to hold hands with you because they so are grown up when walking home from school and feel they may look like a baby in front of their friends.

The emotional breakdown lasting two weeks after Christmas and having the difficulty to understand that boxing day it ends, haha!

When they are overly tired and you look at them, the filthy look they give you thinking how very dare you look in my direction!

The million and one question where has the hand wash gone (even though it is right at the end) they still have to question you and interrogate you on the new hand wash. Why, it is just bloody hand wash brought from Poundland, it is even the same make for God sake.

Having a breakdown that school is not on a Saturday because they so desperately want to go on that specific climbing frame even though you offered a visit to a better one at the park. It is just simply not good enough.

Having an almighty challenge of getting them into the bath and then later having to battle the tears and tantrums of not wanting to get out ever.

What kind of things baffle you as a parent?

Enlightment

Hey readers,

Sometimes, I feel shocked and how instinctive I become over my children. Even though I am autistic I always thought I would never match up with other other parents. I always felt that little bit different, like something is missing but I can’t find it. But then life surprises you at times, sometimes they are the best times, the unexpected situations that really blow you away.

I find that when I am in the mist of self-doubt and uncertainty being in a situation to defend yourself and ultimately being emerged in it, some inner strength comes along and you can do it, if exposed to that situation.

You learn more things about yourself then you would ever imagine and sometimes it is that small victories hat can make you feel so much better. Therefore enabling me to create a better and  stronger attachment between myself and my children.

You can almost forget what you can do because the brain and the thoughts are so distorted that it alters your reality.  Sometimes us mums are so hard on ourselves that it is barbaric the mental torture we put on ourselves. The sad thing is that I am doing ok, but sometimes with all the mixed messages out and about it can cause confusion, leaving you feel a little lost.

Then small nuggets of enlightenment can help you grow in your confidence in your ability to parent.  Ideally, I have always found that stepping away and giving yourself time to be without constantly listening to the noise. This can help give me that break to think more clearly.  Even if it is to just simply breakdown and have that time to just allow all them emotions escape. Sometimes, feelings can be built up so much that they can be real burden. So, allowing them to be expressed and getting it out of your system is really beneficial instead of it building up and weighing you down.

I have always found that in one way or another you will find way, it may take time but you will grow. Just hold on through and that moment will pass, even though it feels like hell at the time.
