Review of Oppo Ice Cream

Hey Readers,

Feeling a bit bloated from indulging on the Christmas food and aiming to be a bit more healthy. There is one solution for it and that is the low calorie ice cream by Oppo ice cream.

I chose the columbian chocolate and hazelnut flavour ice cream to test out. I will be quite frank with you I am not that keen on the flavour because it tasted a bit too bitter for me, but hey I wanted to try something new so that is why. Plus sadly there was no mint chocolate swirl stocked at my local supermarket.

The ice cream itself felt lighter but with a good coincidency and still set solid even though there was less fat type ingredients involved.

Oppo uses ingredients of cold pressed virgin coconut oil, stevia leaf, fresh milk from organic cows who are free to roam and graze in fields.

I suppose one of the main attractions to Oppo ice cream is the fact that it is a reduced calorie item compared to other ice creams. One scoop is 43 kals and is a more healthy alternative to regular ice cream which is laddered in sugar and cream.

Therefore giving you a change to enjoy something sweet and not feeling like you are missing out.

There are also other flavours – salted caramel, mint chocolate swirl, madagascan vanilla. You can pick up a pot in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Holland and Barrett, Ocado, Asda, Whole Foods Market and Budgens.

I was gifted a pot of Oppo ice cream in exchange for a review. However, all opinions expressed in this post are honest and entirely my own.

Things that annoy me about my children

Hey readers,

Firstly, I want to confirm that I love my children but sometimes they can be a right pain in the arse and here is why!

They expect you to know the rules of the game that they have made up in there head and if you dare ge tthe rules wrong they go berseck. I mean come on I am not psychic.

They have a knack at saying things at the most inappropriate time in public places super loud. Such as, one time my youngest decided to ask me in the toilets why do you have a hole mummy? Where is your hole mummy? What is that in your pants (sanitary towel for your info).

You have to watch their mind numbingly rubbish shows that are really bright now a days, in my opinion anyway!

Why are children so loud, particular first thing in the bloody morning. Then there is the  never ending questions, just drop it for the 1000 time, we are doing it because mummy said so, now sod off.

Children are SO needy and constantly demanding, I mean they really could give Mariah Carey a run for her money and that is saying something 😉

The older a child gets they cost and they are aware of it with their own certain desires and specifications, no dubes anymore, *sob*!

The meltdowns when they are tired are killer, especially when they are in total denial.

They like really like early mornings and they 99.9% of the time get up at the same time of the day, regardless of late nights, dark mornings, nothing will stop the little monkeys from getting up and bouncing on mummy and daddy’s bed, pfft!

When we drive anyway the constantly asking are we there yet. I mean we haven’t even left the car park and it is, ‘are we there yet?’, well what do you bloody well think, fml!

If there are siblings involved it is constant bickering about what the other person has. It really doesn’t matter what it is, if the the other child has it then they will have a massive hissy fit. For instant there have already been several arguments in my household over the fact that one child has the blue spoon when they have the green, I mean seriously, they do the same job just as well, it is only colour.

How to be content

Hey readers,

In this day and age it is hard not to compare yourself.  I for one am guilty of this, it is so easy to assume that one has it all whilst you feel like you are floating above water.

We can forget that what you see with your eyes on the surface may not be the actually truth. How can possible know everything about someone when we only see a glimpse.

abstract 3

That is why it is important to look for content within and not on unrealistic ideas that assume make other happy.

Sometimes you can fall under the trap of negativity, where all you see is the bad stuff. That is why it is important to take stock of what is good in life. No one has it all but I am a true believer in that there is one good thing in life even if it is small.

Today I felt sad as if my life is going anyway. I could continue down the negative spiral but won’t get me anywhere, it will just make me feel ten times worse.

abstract 2

The things I have succeeded in is getting up and making sure my children are well and happy. I have read a book and even writing this post is productive.

I think it is important to accept the things you do have and not dwell. Being content with yourself so a hard thing to achieve when there are so many messages everywhere telling us to be like this or that. You feel like you are questioning everything.

abstract 1

I think the main that I have learnt in my adult life is meaning and the value you put on something. I think that is the powerful thing. If you let go of connecting to something you would be amazed at how little impact it has on you.

I think the thing that is key in being content is questioning everything and working out what it means to you. Deep down is it really important to you?

Love for daylight hours

Hey readers,

Have you remembered to forward your clocks? Isn’t it wonderful to get lighter evenings now and I am happy for this change, let me tell you why?

clock forward

I suppose the first obvious reason why daylight saving time is good because it is lighter evenings and lovely to see the beautiful sunsets you get during summer time.

It is lovely to have more motivation as there is more light, which means getting more things doing.

Having more time to see things in the evening if I am out and about.
I really enjoy the calm of the lighter evenings, especially if it is dry and you can go for a lovely evening stroll.

Better change (if dry) to eat Al fresco, especially if it is a picnic at the park, makes my boys in particular super happy.

clock forward 2

For a parent the dream of having a quicker time to get the washing dry, meaning more loads completed in a smaller time is the dream!

That being said you don’t need to live your home if you have some open space, a lot more quitter for us parents and the boys play together outside without getting under your feet. Which is always an added bonus 😉

I find that if my boys are out playing in the fresh air later in the evening they sleep better during the night-time.

You feel happier when it is lighter and less likely to want to stay in watch TV, maybe because you are more energetic.

Have more desire to get out of the house and less sluggish.

During the light times the golden hour is a beautiful time to take attractive photos.

clock forward 3

With the lighter mornings you’re more motivated to get up and not need as much sleep during the lighter months.

What things do you like about Daylight Saving Time?
