Beat the post Christmas blues

Hey Readers,

You know that feeling after Christmas when they climax can make you feel bleh and like nothing is exciting because it is all happened. Not to mention that you gained more pounds and lost some via the bank, sigh. So, I have looked at some ways to help feel less blue.

With Christmas we have spend more time at home, indulging in food and sitting watching copious amounts of television. A change of scenery is good especially when it is out in nature and going for walks outside. It is a fantastic way to blow of them cobwebs and you really do feel tons better.

Since Christmas I for one have been so focused on dealing presents, food, entertainment that now I have got nothing to focus on. That is why making plans and doing something exciting can really help give you back that cest for life. It doesn’t even have to be something big, it could be just a walk to your local library and reading some new books.

Of course a good way to feeling better is eating more healthy choices and reduce the amount of sugar laden food. You feel much better physically and mentally for it.

Sometimes, it is easy to get stuck in a pity party especially after all the excitement of Christmas has vanished. Sometimes just changing the way you think or looking at the things that you do have and being thankful really make you feel tons better.

Have you noticed that Christmas routine slips away, you relax and take it easy. You may have been really busy with social engagements so getting to a routine can help you feel so much better and a bit more in control.

Obviously, we love a good drink or two, why not it’s Christmas. But now that Christmas is finished reduce the amount of alcohol will help you greatly, as alcohol is a depressant so can influence your mood hugely.

Inspirational Christmas Gift Guide 2017

Hey readers,

I am going to say the C word as Christmas is just around corner and if you love find some inspiration for presents then look no further then in this post. I have a mixed bag of items which is a bit like me.  So let me begin with:

Bakerdays personalised Cake

I received a letterbox christmas cake by Bakerdays through the letterbox, and it really did fit through it. I opened and it was perfect, no problems and sealed. I love this concept as you can order online. Delivery there is 3 day slot which is free or alternatively there is next day delivery if you are in a rush and need it fast (£5.99 within a two day prior order of cake). You can also order and deliver to someone as a surprise. There are several different types of occasions such as birthdays, christian, Eid. So, there really is something for everyone.

I like the presentation of the cake in a tin and sealed. It comes with a cracker and a lovely card, which is a lovely touch to the cake.

The cake itself is actually good and moist, the vanilla flavour was lovely. My sons loved it as it didn’t have cream based filling and normally they are quite fussy about cake.

I chose a cat picture – though there are several different designs to chose from along with my personalised text, as you can see in the picture below.

There are also different size cakes to choose from and also dairy free. There several different flavours you can choose from (chocolate, vanilla, lemon drizzle etc).

The cake prices are down to the size of the cake. They start from £14.99 to £57.99.

I definitely recommend this cake as a perfect alternative idea for Christmas present or simply for yourself for Christmas.

I also did a unboxing over at my YouTube channel if you are interested, you can find the video here.

Box Head Craft game for children

This idea of a Box Head Craft is basically  a box with squares where you can colour in and fun being creative. The idea is help encourage children to step away from technology and use other ways to keep themselves entertained. The product itself is a cardboard box with cubes on it and can fit onto a child’s head safely. It is a fun way to get children to use their imagination.   There are options where you can order for playdates (two boxes) and even design your own t-shirt. Another idea would be used for a party and this would be quite a calm idea when everyone is buzzing, it can help create calmness I would imagine.

My son who has autistic tendencies really helped calm him down when he was getting overworked when at home. It is a great therapeutic tool to have if  you also have a child with additional needs.

The box it’s self cost £8.00 and comes with free delivery.

Personalised Santa Letter and Certificate.

Of course a perfect present just before Christmas are these lovely Personalised Santa letter and certificate. They have beautiful paper and a certificate to keep. The boys loved them and because they were  felt really happy because they believed that Santa had watched them. This is so much easier then the Elf on The Shelf as you just have to point them to the letter and tell them Santa is watching, naughty mummy 😉

They are delivered to you inside a brown envelope and the letters are enclosed in a white envelope with pretty colours around the edging as you can see. It is also addressed to the child, making it more realistic.

The letters themselves cost £5.99 and come with free shipping, I think it is lovely touch to add festive cheer to your hou

sehold.

I hope you have enjoyed my guide, whatever you do I hope you have fun with the lead u to Christmas.

How to create blog ideas

Hey readers,

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block and need inspiration for ideas? Well look no further as I tell you some fab places to find content inspiration for your blog or whatever you need it for.

Here are my Six ways to find inspiration to write.

1) Obviously, a classic place would be to look on websites that relates to topics of interests, such as Mumsnet, huffington post or even general newspapers.

2) A way to generate ideas is to do a thing called a mind map where you put you focus theme in the middle and generate sub categories relating to the main theme. You don’t have to write sentences just words, pictures anything that generates an idea. I find it a really relaxing to get your creative juices flowing so to speak.

3) Third tip is a classic one and that is to read other people’s blogs that may be of similar interests to you. It can really help inspire when reading other people’s work.

4) Look at tweetchats on twitter as it is really good for getting you thinking. There are many  regular chats on twitter, on a variety of topics so there is plenty of choice and look at things that may appeal to you to write about.

5) If you are on WordPress you can go to the section called reader allowing you to search on whatever word you type in. It with give you all the WordPress posts that relate to that aspect and it is really fantastic way of getting ideas.

6) Look up themes for a month or time of year you can find different ideas or do the block challenge which has a certain theme for each day can be really helpful in challenging you to write. also looking up Pacific days of the year for celebrations around the ones can really help find topic ideas and I’ve had really successful place in the past because of that.

Keep writing

Hey readers,

People say, ‘just keep writing’  is the mantra to live by. I write my blog on all sorts of things that inspire me, from poetry to the food I love. I am not a niche kind of person, I just go with what inspires me within that moment and share it with the world.

There are days when I completely lost my motivation to continue to write or even log into WordPress. As a suffer from anxiety and depression the simplest things can feel like climbing a mountain and sadly one of them is writing. Even though from a young age have found writing down the better way for me to communicate my emotions, the struggle is there.

But when I write it makes a huge difference to me. The hardest bit is to actually get started, as soon as crack that then my thoughts just flow and I have so many thoughts believe me and you!

Sometimes, I think my writing is rubbish, though I believe that should not stop me from writing as it has purpose.  I do believe it is a good mantra to keep writing, no matter what the length, one sentence or pages of words, it keeps your mind light up and can open up new ideas.  Not to mention the benefit of keeping constantly writing every day can build up your confidence and improve in the skill of writing. We can’t be all natural, but we can practice. Deep down that is ok, because even if no one enjoys my content, I still am getting something out of it, no matter if it is big or small it is helping. There are many other worse things to do in life then ramble of some words (my interpretation of  my work). Of course, I am my hardest critic. However, I am going to remain optimistic because I enjoy ands it helps deal with the shit in my life.

Father’s day gift guide 2017

Hey readers,

Next month (18th June) will be Father’s day and if you are struggling for ideas then look no further, as I have complied a father’s day guide.

gift guide.png

1) Firstly, my hubby is into baking and cooking, I know shock right. But I thought he might enjoy this as he always watches the programme and there is something beautiful about flicking through a cook book when you have five minutes to yourself. The Great British Bake Off Every Day cook book, full of favourite recipes from Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. You pick pick up a copy from Asda (£9).

2) Looking for something amusing and a Star Wars Fan, check out this funny mug with the well know Yoda character printed on it. You can buy this online from Etsy (£6.99 + P&p).

3) Now, this item is slightly pricey but it will be a top hit for the techno man in your life. It is a spectrum solo DAB+FM radio. I like the fact that it looks similar to a Lego piece so something little bit different from your typical DAB style radio. But be perfect to have in the kitchen or even if you opt for a summer barbie in the garden, will create the perfect ambience. You can buy the radio from  John Lewis (£40).

4) If you want something a little bit different check out  Matalan option of growing your own pizza toppings (£3).

5) Always a hit in my household is the old alcohol beverage and this Hobgoblin beer from Tesco (£1.25) will nicely quench any father’s first on the special day.

I hope you have found this guide inspiring and whatever way you celebrate Father’s day, I hope you have a fabulous day spoling the father’s in your life.
