Autumn Clothes Wishlist 2017

It is September which means change of seasons. As you probably have seen the Autumn clothes are coming into the shops. I love this time of year especially in relation to fashion. I love the comfort of knitted wear, tights and autumn colours in clothing. I brilliant website is Lyst for all your fashion needs on one website and curated to your tastes.

I have deviced a wish list of some of the items I have spotted that I am lusting over and perfect for the autumn season.

1) I am loving this fun red animal print from Asos, I like the way that it is loose and funky design (£16.00).

2) Jumpers are stable pieces during the autumn season, I love this simple but warm soft knit from Monki  (£15.00).

3) Now the next piece is a bold number but that bright yellow jumpsuit from BooHoo to brighten up dreay day. It is in the sales as well for £6.00 – bargain!

4) I just love cable type jumpers and this red is to die for. It is from BooHoo and currently is £4.00 in the sales, so be quick to pick it up.

5) Finally, I present you this lovely dress from Asos. I think it is clear to say I am attracted to the colour red. I really like the thrills and it is something that you can wear most of the year with or without tights, so it is a real bargain in my eyes (£12.00).

Gingery Oaty Biscuits

Hey readers,

Looking for a easy recipe to do with the kids that takes  less than 30 minutes then look no further with these gingery oaty biscuits.

INGREDIENTS 

  • 150g oats
  • 100g self-raising  flour
  • 1 heaped tsp of ginger
  • 1 tbsp of golden sugar
  • 75g determa sugar
  • Butter + a bit more for the greaseproof paper

Method 

1. Firstly, pre-heat the oven to 170c. Then spread some butter on to some  greaseproof paper and then place on to a tray.

2. Measure out the ingredients.

3. Put the butter, sugar and golden syrup into a pan on a low heat in order to melt the ingredients.

4. Stir the rest of the ingredients into the melted mixture.

5. Shape the mixture into little balls and place them on to the tray. I found that flattening down with a spatula helps give an even bake.

6. Place the biscuits into the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until golden.

7. Remove the biscuits from the oven and place on to a rack to cool down.

8. Enjoy.

Hubby’s treacle  waffles recipe 

Hey Readers,

Looking for a sweet recipe look no further, I have a winner recipe here!

Ingredients

Makes 12 big waffles

  • Plain flour 300g
  • Demerara Sugar-  75g
  • Baking powder –  2 level teaspoons
  • A pinch of salt
  • Two eggs
  • melted butter – 100G
  • Milk – 500ml
  • Treacle – 1 tablespoon

(For savoury exchange the treacle and sugar for one more egg plus any herbs you want).

Method

  1. Flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a bowl, make a well into the centre add the eggs and melted butter  and treacle. Gradually mixing from the centre mix the liquid into the dry (hubby find’s it easier using a dinner knife to do this because of the stickiness).
  2. Starting a  little at a time add and mix the milk in, you should get a mixture that is quite runny but thicker then pancake mix just add halfway through mixing hubby switches from a knife to a spatula, leave mixture to stand while you get your plate, toppings and waffle iron ready.
  3. If you normally make waffles then we find these work better on a slightly lower heat for a longer time, so for us instead of 3 1/2 minutes at setting 4.5 out of 8, we do it for 4 1/2/ minutes on setting 4.

Spicy Paprika Potato Wedges 

Hey readers,

It is hard when your parent trying to find alternatives other then chips to encourage a child to try. Both my boys love potato wedges and they are really easy to make.

Ingredients

  • Spray light.
  • Sea salt.
  • 1 tbsp mild paprika
  • 6 Maris Piper potato (or any other suitable potato for roasting).

1) Preheat oven to 220c/ 200c fan/ gas mark 7.

2) Cut potatoes into wedge shapes. I cute them in half and the slice halves into three.

3) Boil the potatoes for 5 minutes.

4) Drain the potatoes and then steam dry by potatoes in a pan and lid on.

5) Place potatoes out onto the baking tray and make sure that all potatoes are spread out evenly.

6) Spray the potatoes with fry light and then sprinkle with paprika and sea salt.

7) Cook for 20-25 minutes in oven and periodically shake the potatoes on the tray.

8) Serve up on plate and enjoy 🙂
