10 Ways to deal with anger!

Hey readers,

I get frustrated a lot because of my autism. I tend to then result in going down the angry root, easy and it gets rid of that pent up energy. That being said it can have consequences and yes some angry can be good, not for me I use it wrongly. I have however over the years learnt slowly to redirect that angry into more productive ways. So, I am going to share with you ways that have helped me deal with anger.

1. If you can go to your room and punch a pillow it will do wonders and stops any angry.

2. Go out for a walk and get away from the stressful situation.

3. Write down them frustrations, you will be amazed at how therapeutic after it is to clear the thoughts from your head.

4. Count to ten, especially when in the moment. I find that when doing it stops the instant rage and can give you that breather to think clearer.

5. Walk away from the situation and give yourself time to calm down.

6. If it is something you need to make a decision or impulse give yourself time before doing some rash when you are not in the frame of mind to make a clear decision.

7. Anger tends to mask another emotion such as hurt, depression, sadness. It can be easier to be angry as a defense mechanism in order to protect yourself. If you can speak to someone whether be a doctor, friend or family member that you can trust to discuss deep feelings and allow them to come to the surface instead of being suppressed, may be a real benefit for your mental health long term.

8. Do some physical exercise like running, swimming or whatever tickles your fancy. to get rid of that frustration can do  the world of good for your health.

9. Keep a journal of how you feel when anger occurs. Overtime you can evaluate what kind of things trigger the anger.

10. Have a plan in place for when the anger comes so you know what you can do when the anger occurs. You will tons better because you are taking action of managing your control and if it is anxiety based knowing how to respond or what triggers it can help you feel better about dealing with the situation.

What kind of things help you when experiencing anger?

Why playgrounds are ace

Hey readers,

If you are a parent you would have experienced taking your child to the playground. I think they are brilliant resource for everyone to use and here is why.

They get you out the house and get you away from the four walls or watching too much tv.

Playgrounds are a great way of getting a change of scenery and be surrounded by green. Sometimes, just getting away from the same places is a blessing in disguise.

If there is one thing I love more then anything in the world as a parent is finding fun things to do with my child that are free because let’s face it children come with a bloody big price tag, especially when they hit school. So, if I can save some money somewhere then going to the playground is one. Plus it helps with keeping children entertained and stop complaining for awhile that they are a bored.

Playgrounds are great for exercise, playing chase, walking or even pushing a child on the swing all contributes to keeping you active.

Going to the playground allows you to blow some cobwebs of and get some much needed fresh  air. It also provides a mental boost, and helps clear your head. It really is amazing such a small and simple activity can have a huge impact on making you feel less crap and giving you the change to think more clearer.

Visiting a playground outdoors gives the child the opportunity to get vitamin D from being out in the fresh air and  help build strength in their bones.

Playground, Play, Children, Adventure

Playgrounds encourage free play, where the child decides what they want to do, they can even make up their own games or use their imagination on the playground apparatus. This next  point coincides with the above one in the fact that a  child can test out there communional skills with socialising with other children at the playground. Therefore possibility  of working together to establish what they want to do. There is also the positive effect of finding a person to share the enjoyment of play with someone who has similar interests in what they like to do in the playground.

Therefore I conclude that playgrounds are ACE!

Why running rocks!

Hey readers,

Recently I returned to running and got hit again by the running bug, I just love and let me tell you why!

Because running gets you out of the house and you get some fresh air.

running 3

If your like me, I get quite frustrated with my inadequacies as a person and since I have started running have found running really great to just burn off them feelings.

It is good for you physical health, I only do running three times a week but I still find it beneficial in helping me ton up my legs and help strength my arms (as I am on medication where one of the side effects causes me great deal of physical pain).

You feel like you have achieved something positive and can make you feel better for it.

It is really fantastic to help you sleep if you do in the evening or alternatively, if you do it first thing in the morning it can set you up for the day.

running 2

You build up stamina which is always handy if you have young children and they want you to run after them in the park.

I had a break from running for a few weeks and definitely missed it. Once I stsrted again with running I found it made me much happier in myself and like I achieved something.

Obiviously, a bonus reason for running is it burns of calerioes which who can not deny is wonderful.

If you have children it sets an example regarding doing exercise and a positive message of seeing it occur.

You never fully appreciate a shower until after a hot sweaty run.

It is free, you can do it practically any where and at any time if you wish.

running 1

There are so many free apps like c25k to help beginnings that are a great guide to help you know where to start. If you are really confident then there is an event called parkrun (again free) where you run with others and such buzz, plus the feeling of being part of the running community.

As a parent you sometimes lose yourself, so it is good to do something for yourself, a bit of ‘me time’ where it is an activity solely for you to enjoy and get something out of.

Running

Hey Readers,

My word of the week is:

RUNNING

This because I had a short break from running due to my mental health problems but have since this week returned to it.

I love running and really missed it, hence why I returned. It is good for me physically and mentally. Even though second week in and I feel a little bit sore, particularly on the old carves, but it is all good. I do love feeling of the ‘burn’ afterwards and feels like I have done something constructive that. Not only all these benefits but it has also helped get ris of frustration which being on the autistic spectrum I acquire a lot in one day alone, haha.

My son has also been running during his PE at school and loves to show  me the position he gets ready for when he has a race. In July will be his first sports day and to say he is excitement is an understatement.

hope you have had a good week,

Free ways to get excise

Hey readers,

You don’t have to spend a fortune to do exercise, here are some ways to help do exercise without breaking the bank.

exercise 1

A simply but a beneficial one is going for a walk or a run outside. There are apps such as couch to 5k can help you train to build your ability to run. I think it is really good to use if you’re a beginner at running.

There are football/basketball areas where all you need to do is take a ball, great for taking kids and getting fit.

exercise

There is so many exercise videos online and the best bit is that there is a wide section of free videos, so you don’t have to fork out. There are sites such as YouTube or simply googling free exercise videos comes up host of variety of free material for you to user at your leisure.

Another exercise you could do at home is walking up and down your stairs. It is a really good way to have a work out, not to mention the benefit of keeping your heart nice and healthy.

Have a look around locally to where you live as you might find outdoor gyms in the park. They are basically gym equipment that is accessible outside and are free to use. I personally feel it is much better to do exercise outside compared to doing in a hot and sweaty indoor gym.

walking

Another new idea that I have recently come across are things called green gyms. They are free outdoor sessions where you work on practical activities such as planting trees or sowing meadows. Not only do you get a good workout but you also get that feel goodness by giving something back to the community.

You can get some great deals on second bikes and then you can pretty much cycle anywhere. Brilliant way to tone up on the legs and a lot more environmentally friendly.
