Prepared

Hey readers ,

my word of the week is

because I have finally got my head in place to deal with Christmas shopping. I am so glad I have completed it, I really struggled with the busyness, so glad it is done now rather than later. I can not believe how busy it is or it could be down to the fact I haven’t been in a shop for over a week. Anyhow, that is one pressure done and it is such a relief. How hot are the stores right now, I feel like I an going pass out, ugh! Still in denial that we are in December and we are fast approaching Christmas, eek!

That said I have been enjoying the films that have been on telly at the moment. I do love to curl up in the evening when it is so miserable outside.

Hope you have had a good week.

Cheers for reading.

Why I like Winter

Hey readers,

Soon it won’t be long before winter and are we getting a climse of the colder weather this week. So instead of feeling a bit rubbish about the wet weather, I am going to celebrate all things wintery.

1. It is sweater weather and I love a good old jumper to keep me cosy during the cold spell.

2. You need horrid weather outside to appreciate the cosy effect of being snuggled up in bed. I love listening to the rain or wind hitting my window at night and knowing that I am safe and sound.

3. Fluffy socks and a water bottle are really comforting especially when it is really super cold outside. It is the perfect items for when you want to settle down in the warm and watch a movie.

4. There is no guilt for watching TV when it is dire outside, most people spend more time during the colder months hibernating, plus it is when tv broadcasts more decent stuff to watch. No one wants to go out in the dark therefore making it one of the best times to stay at home and relax.

5. The best food is winter food, totally comforting, really warm and stoody. That for me is living the dream right there. You can’t beat roasts, soups or carb based meals to keep you warm in and out.

6. With Winter knowing that Christmas is approaching therefore you know that there is wonderful indulgent food and fab array of festive specials to keep you entertained.

7. I am an early riser since getting older and now that the clocks have gone back I can appreciate the beauty of a sunrise to enjoy when no one is around.

8. It is the season for hot chocolate and there is something rather lovely going for a winter walk and having a hot chocolate when you get home, totally warms the old cockles up for sure!

What things do you like about Winter?

Autumn

Hey readers,

My word of the week is:

because it is now officially autumn and it really does feel like autumn. We even have rain and not just my order in but pour down rain which adds to the autumn feel.

I’ve been enjoying burning candles, getting cosy, drinking tea and watching crap on TV which literally is a perfect way to indulge on an Autumn evening.

I’ve also planning on ome autumn activities for the boys because I enjoyed them but not too complicated because no one needs that stress do they!

I’ve also been loving taking photos of leaves falling, it’s just so pretty with all the colours around.

Also, been dusting down my knitwear of course because the temperature or lowering making it super duper cosy. I love the fact that the air feels colder now I may be odd but I prefer the cold weather.

Liked and loved December

Hey readers,

This month has been fun with the lead up to Christmas and there has been lots of things to enjoy.

I have enjoyed not doing the school runs and the break from all the information/letters. Trying to remember all these things is hard so it has been lovely to have a step back and have a much needed rest.

I have enjoyed Christmas and self indulging. I have loved eating some lovely food and appreciate the fact I ma in a position where we can afford food and are safe. Especially around Christmas time you forget sometimes that other people may not be so fortunate.

We enjoyed visiting Santa and watching the magic of Father Christmas.

I have enjoyed treating myself to some books in the sales that I have wanted for a while but been blessed with some money to buy them.

I have enjoyed the fog and darker nights getting cosy.

Wet

Hey readers,

My word of the week is :

This is because this weather we have been experiencing recently has been wet and dame right miserable.

I hate leaving the house when it is bitterly cold but still I have to do the school run, boo. I  look like a drowned rat, I am so cold after getting drenched in the wet.

It has dampened my mood, I feel a bit meh, maybe because it time of the month to boot.

Right now, I have no motivation, other then to snuggle down in a blanket and close all the blinds and forget about the world.

One thing I do love when it is so grim outside is comfort food. We have a pork joint and I am overly excited about that being cooked in the oven. I can’t wait to have gravy and mash. To me that is the ultimate in home comforts. Well and fluffy socks is the second winner.
