  1. You do need to take care of yourself, but I can understand how that feels bad when you know you’ve got to be a parent too. Like you say, sometimes it is hard to find a solution. But understanding your triggers must really be a help. Thank you for sharing #MixItUp

  2. A great eye opening post. I once read The Girl With the Curly Hair and she talks about social energy and how hers gets used up at an alarming rate. It really made me understand why my son gets tired and fed up after some social interaction (he doesn’t as much now) and that he needs regular down time – I don’t care if it’s screen time or a lazy weekend.

  3. I don’t think you have any idea how well you write or how helpful you are so I thought I would tell you. I suspect I am on the spectrum somewhere and find a lot of what helps you helps me too. Also vital for all mums to give themselves heaps of self-care as we do a massively challenging and important job that goes undervalued all too often #MMBC

  4. This post is a great insight into how you deal with everyday life, and the things I take for granted. No wonder you have short term and long term burn out. I think I get through a huge amount of ‘stuff’ each day with a large family and a business, however I have nothing to hinder me, and that makes a HUGE difference. What you achieve in many ways is so much more and so much harder. Remeber to give yourself those rest periods. #TwinklyTuesday


  5. This post is a great reminder to me to be mindful of when my son starts to feel overwhelmed or stressed out. School has been a little stressful for him lately with all of the work he has to do and having to interact in classroom situations. He has a strategy plan that he keeps with him in his binder to help but I can tell when he’s needing a break when he comes home. Sometimes though I forget that he struggles because he handles it so well so thank you for sharing this post. It’s really helpful! #anythinggoes

  6. Burnouts suck, I’m currently on the recovering/back end of one and it’s horrible when you have so much to do on a daily basis like work and parent but all you want to do is sleep and do nothing. Thank you for making people aware of this, take care of yourself.
