Hanging out in the park

Hey readers,

When you don’t have a lot of money but you want to entertain kids but not end up in a soft play area, your local park is your firend. It’s free, you get to escape the home and the kids get tired 😉

My eldest son since starting school this year has been struggling with dealing with emotions partcurarly when he is tired. I can guarantee he would have a meltdown every single night and I was really struggling to deal with it. Therefore I decided to do a short rewart chart to help encoruage my son to deal with his behaviour. It defiantely helped and saw significnat improvements. So as we collected all his stars, he earned a treat to his treat at the park and a picnic.

I am really lucky in where I live as it is not far from a really large and maintained park with have a variety of trees and a brilliant sandy play area with lots of stuff for kids to do.

I think it is really beautiful park with it’s surrounds.

I haven’t been for a couple of months because life has got in the way but my word I can not believe how much my youngest has grown in confidence in climbing without assistance. Scary for me but also a proud moment. My boy is growing up!

Cheers for reading X

  1. It’s great that you found a way to help your son control his emotions, it’s sometimes difficult for them to understand what to do so this sounds like it worked really well. I bet he loved his picnic and afternoon in the park, these days are always magical for kids. It’s great that your youngest has increased in confidence and was willing to climb around by himself now, it’s always scary to watch from the parents perspective though isn’t it?

Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.

  2. Totally agree the park is where it is at! Hopefully tires them out I should add! It’s always good to meet friends there though as I get a pit park crazy if it’s just me and the kid!! #countrykids
